MISSION

The Silicon Valley Clean Cities Coalition (SVCC) supports alternative fuel and innovative, clean technology to decrease dependence on oil and improve the air quality for all. This is achieved through education and collaboration with fuel consumers and policy makers.

We are a program of Breathe California of the Bay Area, Golden Gate, and Central Coast

GOALS

  1. Achieve measurable progress in fleets and individual cars for alternative clean fuels.

  2. Expand awareness of driver choices and fuel efficiency.

  3. Engage stakeholders and grow a sustainable clean fuel coalition for the region.

Ultimately, we aim to reduce our nation’s petroleum consumption by advancing the use of alternative fuels and advanced vehicles. Alternatives to gasoline and diesel include: Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), Ethanol (E85), Hydrogen, Battery-Electric Vehicles, Biodiesel, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG or Propane). Silicon Valley Clean Cities also encourages fuel blends, hybrids, fuel economy and idle reduction. There are over 90 different Department of Energy designated coalitions nationwide.

WHAT WE OFFER

INFORMATION AND EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS

Our workshops present detailed and neutral technology information for fuel reduction and air quality improvements.  Many of our workshops are free and all are affordable.

TECHNICAL AND PROBLEM SOLVING ASSISTANCE

Clean fuel vehicles, and renewable energy represent opportunities for cost reductions and new technologies and experiences.  Through our resources, contacts, and information, SVCC can help fleets, vendors, and partners solve problems and move forward with clean fuel solutions. We also have access to a national network of partners information.

GRANT IDENTIFICATION, EXPLORATION, AND SUPPORT

Clean vehicle projects often include costs that granting agencies at federal, regional, and foundation level can support financially.  SVCC has relationships with a diversity of grant partners, and works with all stakeholders on projects to get out more vehicles and infrastructure.  We will help you make the connections to complete your proposal, please contact us.
