The Green Team (Breathe California, SV Clean Cities Coalition, Electronic Transportation Development Center) in collaboration with the Electro Automotive will be conducting a three-day Electric Vehicle Conversion Training on April 13 - 15, 2012 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Breathe California (1469 Park Ave, San Jose). This program will provide training on the technology of electric vehicles, with the goal of developing a trained workforce for the emerging job sector of green transportation as well as educating potential electric vehicle buyers and users.

Material covered will include performance, cost, environmental, and energy aspects of electric vehicles; AC vs. DC systems; components of the vehicles; conversion of internal combustion vehicles to electric power; driving, charging, and maintenance; troubleshooting; and more.  Vehicle components and a running vehicle will be on hand.

Electro Automotive has been in the electric vehicle business since 1979, supplying components, books and DVDs, consulting, and training.  Company founder and seminar presenter Michael Brown combines his EV experience with previous years as a dealership trained technician and later as an independent shop owner to offer an unmatched depth of expertise.  He was tapped by the Department of Energy as a technical advisor for the Mid-Atlantic Electric Vehicle Challenge, served on the President’s Federal Fleet Conversion Task Force, and currently serves as Transportation Editor for Home Power Magazine.

The Electronic Transportation Development Center is an eight-year-old green transportation support center with the goal of creating green jobs in Silicon Valley. Silicon Valley Clean Cities Coalition focuses on the reduction of the dependency on foreign oil.  Breathe California is a 100-year-old health organization with a mission to reduce the emissions from transportation to help prevent lung disease and promote lung health.
